Net Metering.

Net-Metering allows the owner of a PV system to feed excess electricity back through the meter to the Utility. In this case, the meter runs backwards, and the owner of the PV system is selling back power to the utility at the wholesale power rate. Net-Metering requires an interconnection agreement, and is capped at a system size of 10kW.
